Aqua Vitae Project
Maravia has teamed up with Sean Glaccum, owner of Payette River Company in his latest mission, the Aqua Vitae Project. In September of 2011, Sean and a crew of very experienced rafters and support are headed to the Himalayan country of Nepal to descend two rivers.
The Dudh Kosi River drains the most popular mountain in the world, Mt. Everest. Kayaked a hand full of times, this stretch has never seen a raft below its massive summit.
The Thuli Bheri River drains the seventh highest peak in the world, Dhaulagiri. This river flows through the Dolpo region, one of the most remote and poor regions of the Himalaya.
Sean picked the custom “Green Drake” designed by Link Jackson, owner of Streamtech boats (www.streamtechboats.com) as his raft of choice for this first descent mission. The Green Drake, designed to be the Ferrari of fishing craft, will now be seen training on the class V section of the North Fork of the Payette before they head to Nepal.
The Aqua Vitae mission is to run these rivers while helping rural Himalayan people cure and prevent the spread of the disease Cholera.
The expedition team is headed into some of the most unforgiving terrain in the world. Funding will enable the team to have the best whitewater equipment available, the supplies to treat people with the spreading disease, and the ability to travel to these remote regions. The team is seeking financial aide to make this humanitarian expedition a reality

This is very cool and I am most honored that Sean has chosen my design. I look forward to hearing more about this and watching a bit of the training on the N. Fork. thanks for the post.
